The History of Kikunoya

Kikunoya wa founded in 23rd year of Meiji (1890) originally located next to where Kabukiza in Ginza stands today, and sold Kabuki Sembei which was highly acclaimed.

Near the end of the Meiji period, Kikunoya came up with the idea of dry confectionaries for tea time and our famous “Fukiyosei” product was born. Even today due to its being introduced by the media, “Fukiyosei” remains our outstanding best seller.

Following the 2nd World War, Kikunoya moved its main shop and factory to Ginza 5 chome Azuma Road, but in 1971 the location changed to B1 in Ginza Core where it has been located ever since.
